Comedian Tim Wilson passed away on Wednesday of an apparent heart attack. He was 52-years-old. Wilson incorporated country music into his comedy routine and released several comedy albums over the years. Tim and fellow comedian Jeff Foxworthy co-wrote Foxworthy's hit song "Redneck 12 Days of Christmas," which was released in 1995 and reached the Top 20 on the country chart. Wilson also released a handful of his own singles to country radio, including "Garth Brooks Has Ruined My Life" and "The Ballad of John Rocker." Jeff Foxworthy took to Twitter to say, "Sad day in the comedy world. Tim Wilson was a legend and made me laugh so many times. Many caring thoughts are with his family today." Wilson leaves behind his wife and two children. (Photo credit:

Even after several acts backed out of their planned performances at SeaWorld following concerns about the mistreatment of animals there, Scotty McCreery still plans on performing at the marine park. The acts cancelled their scheduled performances at SeaWorld after the release of a documentary titled Blackfish, which alleges that Orcas have been mistreated and abused in captivity. Scotty is scheduled to perform at SeaWorld in Orlando, Florida on March 1, and he recently said there’s two sides to every story, he’s done his research and decided not to cancel. Some of the acts that have cancelled their scheduled performances at SeaWorld in recent months include Trace Adkins, Willie Nelson, Trisha Yearwood, and Martina McBride. Scotty's performance at SeaWorld will be part of the park's "Bands, Brews & BBQ" concert series.

Dierks Bentley will join forces pop rock band OneRepublic for the latest installment of CMT Crossroads. During the one-hour special, the two acts will perform unique mashups of OneRepublic hits like "Counting Stars" and "Good Life" and Bentley favorites such as "I Hold On" and "Up On The Ridge." This CMT Crossroads performance will mark the first meeting and collaboration between the two. CMT Crossroads: OneRepublic and Dierks Bentley will air on March 21 at 10:00 PM.

Martina McBride has delighted fans' ears with her music for years, and now she'll satisfy their taste buds as well. WZTV in Nashville reports that a small fire broke out at Loretta Lynn's ranch home in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee yesterday morning. According to emergency personnel, the flame from a candle caused a chair in the home to catch on fire in the sun room. Nobody was injured in the incident and fire was extinguished before the emergency services arrived. In a message posted on the singer's website, Loretta and the family thanked everyone for their prayers and concerns following the small fire. Last year, a fire broke out at Lynn's Hurricane Mills ranch, destroying a concession stand and damaging several other buildings there. Officials believed that weather or a faulty power strip was the cause of that fire.

Dierks Bentley accidentally shared his personal email address with millions of his fans on Monday night, causing his inbox began to fill overflow with messages in a matter of hours. Bentley's little mishap occurred after he took a phone screen shot of an email alert from iTunes informing him that his pre-ordered copy of his album Riser was available. But within the screen shot of the email alert, Bentley inadvertently revealed to the social media masses what his email address was. Dierks returned to the social media sites to remove the screen shot, but by that time he had already received thousands of emails from adoring fans. He later tweeted a photo of his phone's inbox showing some of the emails.

What would happen if Blake Shelton switched places with his rival coach on The VoiceAdam Levine? That question was answered on Monday night when the two singers traded Twitter accounts to help kick off Season 6 of The Voice. The social media swap took Twitter by storm and led to some rather unusual tweets from the bromancing pair. Here are some of the top tweets from Blake and Adam on Monday night. Adam tweeted from Blake's account, "@adamlevine is so good looking #VoiceFact." Blake posted this message on Adam's account, "Every time I lose an artist to another coach on The Voice, I pick up People Magazine to remind myself I'm sexier than they are." (Photo credit:

Kip Moore took to Twitter recently to respond to the criticism he got after making a surprise visit to members of a fraternity and sorority at George Mason University in Fairfax. Moore's visit to the college campus followed his performance on Lady Antebellum's "Take Me Downtown Tour," and he took to the social media site to express his feelings toward the people that didn't want him there. While it's not clear where the criticism for his surprise performance came from, it is clear that Kip will continue to give his fans a great show regardless of those who disapprove of it.

Reba McEntireBobby Bare and Loretta Lynn have been announced as performers at this year's Johnny Cash Music Festival in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Eric Paslay was in Nashville yesterday to celebrate the success of his single "Friday Night" at a number one party in town. Paslay has written several chart-topping songs in recent years, but "Friday Night" marks his first number one hit as an artist. Before the party got underway at the CMA headquarters near Music Row, Eric talked about topping the chart for the first time as an artist. Paslay said, "I think now I know how hard it is to get a number one as an artist. As a writer, you write the song and move on to the next one. As the artist, you promote it for 42 weeks. And it's just awesome. I'm glad. All smiles today."

When Dierks Bentley needed advice about one of the personal songs from his new album, Riser, he looked no further than Bono from the group U2. Dierks told Country Weekly that he first met Bono in 2011 after U2 had performed a show at Vanderbilt Stadium in Nashville. He said that the two were seated next to each other at a dinner Bono did with Tennessee Senator Bill Frist, and they talked about their shared love of country music. Dierks recently asked Bono for feedback on a song from his Riser album titled "Here on Earth," which he wrote about his father passing away. Bono then emailed Dierks with very positive feedback on the song, telling him that the song's lyrics were like a prayer. Dierks says a future collaboration between the two singers is a strong possibility.

Trisha Yearwood recently kicked off her 20-city "Just Because Tour," and she says that her reason for getting back out on the road is evident in the name of the headlining trek. Trisha tells Billboard, "I don't have an album out, nothing to promote and people are like, 'Why are you going on tour?' Because I want to. So that's why I'm calling it the 'Just Because' tour." And because she's not promoting a new record, Yearwood says this tour will really just be about giving her fans a great show. The next date on the tour is scheduled on February 27 in East Lansing, Michigan. (Photo Credit:

Lucy Hale was scheduled to make her Grand Ole Opry on Friday night, but had to cancel her planned appearance due to illness. Lucy says that performing on the Grand Ole Opry has been "a lifelong dream" of hers, but she was forced to postpone the date after battling flu symptoms all week. Lucy's Opry debut will be rescheduled to a later date. This news comes on the heels of Hale's announcement last week that her debut album, Road Between, will be released on June 3 of this year. Before falling ill last week, Lucy was in the middle of a two-month long promo tour in support of her single, "You Sound Good To Me," meeting with country radio, fans, and playing multiple performances across the country. When Cole Swindell was deciding which song to release as his debut single, he wanted make sure that the tune would grab everyone's attention. And when Swindell released "Chillin' It" as his debut single, people definitely took notice of him.  With the release of his new self-titled debut album just last week, fans finally have a chance to hear more of his music. The new album has everything from fun live concert tunes to songs about heartbreak, and Swindell assures that every song on the record is 100 percent Cole. He says, "I'm just a normal guy from south Georgia living in Nashville, living the dream as they say, but I've been through all that stuff on my album and so that's what I wanted to do."

Kacey Musgraves' has pushed the boundaries of the country music norm with her music, and that edgy approach has caused some to push back. But while some may disapprove of Kacey's brave lyrics and unconventional brand of country music, Musgraves doesn't mind the criticism it draws. Kacey says that her creativity flourishes when she steps outside of her comfort zone, and she wouldn't have it any other way. She says, "Music isn't supposed to be vanilla. It's not supposed to be something absolutely everyone enjoys. Frankly I'd love to see even more diversity in country music. Art is not supposed to be McDonalds."

Lee Brice spends long periods of time on the road away from his family, leaving his wife, Sara, with their two young boys, Takoda, age 5, and Ryker, who is nearly 3-months-old. But even though Lee is away from his family while he's out on tour, the couple always finds a way to make everything work. Brice told CMT, "It ain't no secret that I spend too much time on the road. And the more my heart wants to be home, the further I go. I'm not complaining, because I'm living my dream. But there's that balance." With a 3-month-old in the house, Sara certainly has her hands full while Lee is away, but even Ryker's big brother pitches in to help everything run smoothly. Lee's next scheduled show is on February 26 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

On Tuesday night, Florida Georgia Line had to cancel a scheduled performance at the 2014 Country Radio Seminar (CRS) in Nashville after the duo's Tyler Hubbard injured himself while riding a dirt bike over the weekend. FGL's Brian Kelley was on hand at the CRS event where he told the room full of music industry professionals that Tyler had injured his back after hitting a jump a little short. Kelley then told the crowd that Hubbard visited with two chiropractors following the incident and had even gone to the hospital. At one point in the night, shots of Fireball Whiskey were passed around room and everyone took a shot in Tyler's honor. FGL is scheduled to perform tonight as part of Jason Aldean's "Night Train Tour" in Grand Rapids, Michigan. There is no word yet on if the date has been postponed and it is still listed on their website.

The icy conditions in the Northeast caused David Nail's tour bus to crash on Valentine's Day (Friday) while he was the road to a show in Albany, New York. David told reporters recently that he was on the way to a stop on Darius Rucker's "True Believers Tour" when the bus ran off the road into the median. Luckily, the bus stayed upright and no one was seriously injured in the wreck. While the accident left Nail and his band a little shaken up, it didn't stop them performing the scheduled show. Darius's buses soon pulled up at the scene of the accident and took everyone to the concert.

Luke Bryan has announced that he will release his next Spring Break themed digital EP on March 11 titled Spring Break 6…Like We Ain't Ever. The new EP will feature 6 original songs, all co-written by Luke, and follows the singer's latest EP titled Spring Break…Here to Party, which was released in March of 2013. And to keep the Spring Break celebration going, Luke will once again play two free concerts at Spinnaker's Beach Club in Panama City, Florida on March 11 and 12. Bryan's previous five Spring Break releases have sold over 750,000 copies. (Photo credit:

While it seems like there's been more tolerance towards the issue of gay rights in the eyes of the country music community lately, Jennifer Nettles says the wheels of change could be moving faster. Nettles tells PrideSource that she's excited to see more acceptance of the gay and lesbian community within the country genre, but she feels like even more can be done. Jennifer shares, "This should have already been behind us.” Jennifer has always tried to stay true to herself in the music she creates, and feels that message of authenticity resonates with the gay and lesbian community.
