DIERKS DUETS WITH PEYTON MANNING
Famed football quarterback Peyton Manning seems like an unlikely duet partner for Dierks Bentley, but that's exactly what happened last week at the 8th annual Celebration of Caring Gala in Indianapolis. Peyton was in the home city of his former NFL team The Colts to attend the event, and he invited Dierks to be the featured performer of the night. During Bentley's performance, the audience was in for a real treat when Manning got onstage to help Dierks sing a duet of Johnny Cash's classic song "Folsom Prison Blues." But this wasn't the first time the football star flexed his golden pipes at the annual charity event. During last year's event, Peyton took the stage with Jake Owen to sing the very same Cash song.

My Way, A Musical Tribute to Frank Sinatra is playing now through June 28th at the Riverside Center Dinner Theatre. I was lucky enough to attend the Mother's Day Matinee during opening weekend, and I enjoyed every minute. The theatre was full, the food was excellent, and the service was stellar.

I enjoyed a signature drink called the Fly Me To the Moon (think Blue Hawaiian) and started my meal with the Fried Green Tomato appetizer, so yummy. I had the Baked Seafood Casserole as an entrée and a slice of cheesecake for dessert, both were delicious. I always order a drink for intermission, and it's usually a Chocolatini … don't judge!

The show was a pleasant surprise, knowing it was a musical tribute and not a play or musical, I was happy to see the live band set up on stage. The small cast of 4 was all new to me, and their voices are sensational! If you're ANY kind of Frank Sinatra fan, you'll enjoy this trip down memory lane with Old Blue Eyes. There will be NO SPOILERS here, folks, but I will tell you this – ALL your favorite songs are here. Saying that, I'd also like to point out that while I THOUGHT I knew a lot of songs by the Chairman of the Board, I was surprised by how many great songs were included that I hadn't heard before.

The cast and staff of Riverside Center Dinner Theatre have pulled off another winner, and it won't take long to get the word out, so get your tickets now before every show sells out! Spend a night reminiscing about a bygone era filled with music, moonlight, and an honest to goodness TRIBUTE to one of the greatest crooners of our lifetime. Go see My Way, it'll leave you longing for far-away places and long lost love, the way only the memory of Frank Sinatra can.

BROOKS MAKES A MOTHER'S DAY Garth Brooks appeared on an ABC's Good Morning America on Friday (5/8) to surprise one special mother who is the singer's biggest fan. The "Friends in Low Places" singer came to Darlington, Wisconsin to meet Karen Garrison, a fan so loyal to Garth she named one of her sons Garth and her daughter Brook. Karen's daughter Brook was actually the one who nominated her mom for the "Garth Brooks Mother's Day Surprise" contest on GMA, saying her mother is her "backbone" and is always there to support her. The mother of three and hair salon owner is also known around community for her kindness and even picks up her elderly clients for their appointments. While Karen was outside talking to the GMA reporter, Garth came up behind her and surprised her with a big hug. Brooks later sat on a stool next to Garrison and sang her a very appropriate tune -- his song "Mom." But, the surprises weren't over yet. After Garth's touching acoustic performance, he invited Karen and her whole family to his show in Omaha, Nebraska that night (5/8). To make it even better the family flew with Brooks on his private plane.
TRACE DELIVERS A MESSAGE TO GIRL SCOUTS Sometimes people's kind gestures go unnoticed; or at least they think they do. Trace Adkins recently visited children at La Habra library in Southern California to thank them for their donation of 1,000 boxes of Girl Scout cookies and letters to troops stationed in Kandahar, Afghanistan. According to KNBC-TV in Los Angeles, Trace first found out about the kids' donation when he was in Kandahar on his 10th USO tour. Adkins saw "box after box after box" of Girl Scout cookies and letters sitting in Lt. Col. Bill Wyles' office and thought it'd be a good idea to let the children know their package was well received. So he posed for a picture while holding one of his favorite cards, and promised to bring that card back to its writer, 8-year-old Jessica Santos Alatorre. During the visit, Jessica pointed to a heart on her card and said, "I didn't write words, but I meant to say I love you." KNBC-TV reports that Girl Scouts throughout the Orange County area have donated almost 58,000 boxes of cookies to troops and veterans this year.
GARTH BREAKS HOUSTON RECORD

Today Brooks has bested that record by selling more than 85,000 tickets for his series of shows in Houston. Garth will return to Space City for eight shows at the Toyota Center in June and July. Brooks' Houston run will kick off with two shows on Friday, June 26 and Saturday, June 27, and will return Independence Day weekend for two shows on Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4. This is just the latest ticket sales record Garth has broken on this massive world tour.
