The nominees for the 49th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards were announced yesterday, with Miranda Lambert and Tim McGraw leading the pack with 7 nominations apiece. Lambert's seven nominations at this year's show include her third nod for the night's top prize Entertainer of the Year and her eighth consecutive nod for Female Vocalist of the Year. Other artists up for the Entertainer of the Year trophy this year include Luke BryanBlake SheltonGeorge Strait and Taylor Swift. Coming in behind Miranda and Tim with six nominations is Keith Urban, who is up for an award in Male Vocalist of the Year category. Lee BriceKacey MusgravesBlake Shelton, and Taylor Swift each received 5 nominations, with Florida Georgia Line and Lady Antebellum both receiving 4 nods. Lee Brice is currently on the road with Luke Bryan on his "That's My Kind of Night Tour," and even though Lee is one of the opening acts on the tour, he doesn't feel like he's being outshined by Luke. Lee says that Luke's unassuming nature and equitable approach to his tour really shows the singer's true character. He says Luke’s humble, he's selfless, and he's there for the party. And Luke's fair and balanced attitude towards his tour is something Lee hopes to implement on his future tours.

After the nominees were announced for the ACMs yesterdayMiranda Lambert could hardly believe that she had received 7 nods, including her third for Entertainer of the Year. Miranda says every single time she sees her name on any ballot she still gets butterflies and can't believe sometimes that this is her life. Miranda earned ACM Entertainer of the Year nominations in 2011 and 2013, and she is the only female besides Taylor Swift who is up for the award this year. Her other nominations at this year's show include Female Vocalist of the Year, Single, Song and Video of the Year for her chart topping song "Mama's Broken Heart" and two awards in the Vocal Event of the Year category which includes the number one duet with Keith Urban, "We Were Us," as well as her collaborative vocals on Blake Shelton's hit song, "Boys 'Round Here." The 49th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards will air live from Las Vegas on April 6 at 8:00 PM ET on CBS.

And don’t forget!  This year, the fans will again help select the winner of both the Entertainer of the Year and New Artist of the Year categories. Fan voting for Entertainer of the Year begins on March 24 and will close during the third hour of the show's live broadcast. First round fan voting for New Artist of the Year is now open at www.VoteACM.com and www.GACTV.com/ACM and will close on February 4.

Today's More's Mystery

December 18, 2014.......Looking for a classic movie.....

1.  The original version of this movie came out in the mid-1940s.

2.  It was nominated for 4 Academy Awards and won 3 of them.

3.  The movie featured a child star who's career continued through her adulthood until she died in the early 80s under mysterious circumstances.

Answer:  Miracle On 34th Street

The film won Academy Awards for Best Actory in a Supporting Role (Edmund Gwenn), Best Writing Original Story and Best Writing, Screenplay.  It was also nominated for Best Picture, losing to "Gentlemam's Agreement".

Natalie Wood was the child star of the movie.  During the making of her last film, "Brainstorm", she drowned while on a weekend boat trip to Santa Catalina Island, California with her husband, Robert Wagner, actor Christopher Walken and the boat's captain, Dennis Davern.  Many facts surrounding her drowning are unknown because no one admitted seeing how she entered the water.
