Shania Twain makes it clear that she'd like to see more women in the in the country music landscape. Shania tell Canada's Maclean's Magazine, "Balance is important. Twain would love to see more female country stars, but she also understands that women often have a hard time breaking through in the genre. Shania says, "Women have a lot to say but it takes a lot of courage to say it. Women are the greater risk-takers. When they step out of what's expected in this genre, they are really stepping in the line of fire."

You may have heard the controversy around LITTLE BIG TOWN'S song "Girl Crush".  Some people are upset because they think it's about a girl crushing on another girl. It's not, so KAREN FAIRCHILD decided to clear things up.  She said, quote, "The lyric of 'Girl Crush' is written in a kind of sexy way, so some people might want to turn it off when they get to the 'I wanna taste your lips', and all that.  "But once they get to the hook then they go, 'Oh, it turns.'  It's about a girl saying 'Why do you love her and not me?'  And that's what makes it.  You gotta lean in a little bit."   One more thing:  The "Washington Post" asked Karen for her take on the controversy surrounding the song.  She's surprised, and disappointed.  She said, quote, "That's just shocking to me, the close-mindedness of that, when that's just not what the song was about . . . but what if it were?"

CHASE BRYANT doesn't think he's ambidextrous, but I do.  And after you hear him explain how he does stuff, you may agree.  He says, quote,"I play right-handed guitar, left-handed.  I'm a right-handed person, predominantly. But I play guitar left-handed and upside down.  I write, throw a ball, bat, eat, and do most things right-handed, but when it comes to hunting, fishing and playing guitar I'm left-handed."
