Miranda Lambert was in Tishomingo, Oklahoma on Saturday to host an adoption drive to help several dogs find new homes. Lambert held the event near her Pink Pistol store in town and kept everyone up to date on how the drive was going on Twitter. One picture Lambert posted on Twitter showed her with an adorable brown dog named Ace who was wearing a harness that said "adopt me." In the caption for the photo Miranda said, "'Ace' is looking for her forever home today... She is here @ThePinkPistolOK waiting for her new BFF..." Miranda continued to post photos of the dogs up for adoption throughout the day and revealed that the drive had successfully matched 11 pooches with new families. Greg Bates is officially off the market! Over the weekend, Bates proposed to his girlfriend, singer/songwriter Shelley Skidmore, and he took to Twitter to share the news with everyone. Greg tweeted, "I asked and...@shelleyskidmore said yes! #engaged!" The tweet was accompanied by a photo that showed Skidmore standing in a church holding up her hand to show off the new rock. Bates returned to Twitter later to reveal that he's actually getting in shape for the couple's big day. Greg tweeted, "Wedding Workout #1 is in the books. How am I already this sore?"
David Nail has released his brand new single "Kiss You Tonight" to country radio. The song is the follow-up single to David's number one hit "Whatever She's Got," which took the top of the country chart earlier this month. Both songs appear on Nail's forthcoming third album, I'm A Fire, which will hit store shelves on March 4. "Whatever She's Got" is David's second chart-topping hit and follows the number one success of his 2011 song "Let It Rain." Nail will also hit the road this spring for a series of headlining shows with special guest Sam Hunt opening. David is currently on the road with Darius Rucker on his "True Believers Tour" and will also open for Lady Antebellum on select dates of their "Take Me Downtown Tour" later in the spring.
Montgomery Gentry has signed a recording contract with Blaster Records, joining a roster that includes artists such as Hank Williams Jr., Chuck Wicks, Aaron Lewis and Jared Ashley. The duo has tapped Michael Knox to produce their upcoming eighth studio album, which is set to be released later this year. Knox previously produced Montgomery Gentry's Top 10 single "Where I Come From."
