In The Half-Baked Idea" Department.....

Dateline:  Beaverton, Oregon....(....nice name for a town, Beaverton. I'm guessing it's difficult to tell someone you're from Beaverton while keeping a straight face).....Twenty-two year old Derrick Mosley needed some quick cash and decided to get it the easy way......steal it.  His plan was to hold up a store.  First, he had to decide what kind of store he wanted to hold up  "I know", he said, "How about a gun store.  Everybody's buying guns these days.  A gun store is probably loaded down with cash.  Yes, a gun store is definitely the wisest choice."

Next, if you're going to hold up a store, you need a weapon.  Mosley didn't have a weapon.  Well, he did have a baseball bat. That's better than nothing, isn't it.  I guess the idea here was to enter the store with a bat, smash one of the display cases, grab a gun from the case and use it to carry through with the hold-up.  WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG WITH THAT PLAN!!???

So, on Thursday afternoon, Mosley walks into Discount Gun Sales with his Louieville Slugger, announces that it's a hold-up and smashes a display case, reaches inside and grabs himself a gun.  Unfortunately for him, it's a display gun and it's not loaded.  Even more unfortunate for him, the manager on duty is carrying a gun and it IS loaded.  The manager drew his gun, ordered Mosley to drop is bat and lay down on the floor and stay there while 911 was called.  Mosley was being held at the Washington County, Oregon, jail, with bond set at $250,000, the sheriff's department said. He was charged with first degree robbery and unlawful possession of a firearm.

So, Monte Carlo has a $50 million jewel thief.  We have this guy.

What a dope!  WHAT A BIG DOPE!!!!!
