Well the story of Garth Brooks' five Ireland concerts being cancelled is back again and there's actually hope that Brooks will indeed travel to Dublin with show plans at the end of this month. Garth wrote in a letter to the promoter that was published yesterday in the Irish Independent. Brooks said, "Our guys are still en route and if there is any chance that the five planned concerts can be salvaged and nobody is being let down then we can proceed as planned until the refunds begin. If you think that for any reason that the ‘powers that be’ in Ireland can fix this, then I will faithfully go to the last second." Meanwhile, Ticketmaster has brought in extra staff to handle the unprecedentedly large refund process which will begin on Monday.

Carrie Underwood is set to headline the third annual Global Citizen Festival on the Great Lawn in New York City's Central Park on September 27. The concert will actually air live on MSNBC and msnbc.com beginning at 4pm ET that day and will be seen as a one-hour special on NBC-TV at 9 that same night. Other big names on the bill include Jay Z, No Doubt, fun., The Roots and Tiësto.

Rascal Flatts has cancelled the concert tonight scheduled in Oklahoma City due to an undisclosed illness of lead singer Gary LeVox. The band posted the news on Twitter and on their website saying an illness is affecting LeVox's vocal chords. Sheryl Crow and Gloriana were the opening acts scheduled for the date at OKC Downtown Airpark. No makeup date was announced. As of now, concerts planned for Austin and Dallas, Texas are still on schedule. (Photo Credit:  www.tasteofcountry.com )

Miranda Lambert's compassion for animals and rescuing then goes pretty deep. As Lambert shared recently with The Huffington Post, she went out for a cherry limeade and came back with a new family member, "I found one of ‘em at Sonic. Her name’s Delta Dawn. Went to get a cherry limeade and came back with a dog. One was literally on the side of the road, starving. They’re precious." While she loves picking up strays Miranda admits she's at her limit with six dogs at home.
