Two of Garth Brooks' five concerts scheduled in Croke Park in Dublin, Ireland scheduled for July 25-29 have been cancelled after the city issued a license for no more than three. Meanwhile, Garth himself is expected to make a big announcement today as his website read: "The wait is over ... 7/7." Speculation is flying all over the internet that he will announce a U.S. tour after he said in December that in 2014 he hopes to announce plans for a three-year tour.  (Photo Credit:  www.garthbrooks.com )

Lady Antebellum are featured in a new fun ad campaign called "Put Your Spin on It" for Samsung’s Milk Music streaming service. It launched over the Fourth of July weekend, and it features the trio along with John Legend, Iggy Azalea, Chromea, Cold War Kids and more, taking over a life-sized dial of different musical genres. As the dial lands on each genre, a section lights up and the featured artist is shown performing one of their songs.

Orange bird cutouts in the shape of Dierks Bentley's Riser logo were spotted on several Nashville lawns Sunday night. The "flockings" are part of Dierks' "Riser Bird Movement" to announce his ninth annual Miles & Music for Kids event September 28 in Nashville.  Fans can "follow the flock" by following Dierks' social media accounts and searching #riser and #flockit. To get in on the act yourself, keep an eye on Dierks.com in the coming days. All proceeds from the Riser Bird Movement go to the Monroe Carell, Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.

Taylor Swift has been pretty active on Twitter and Instagram after her fun July 4th weekend with friends. Swift often posts one-on-one pictures with her famous BFFs like Selena Gomez, Karlie Kloss and Sarah Hyland, but it's rare to see all of Taylor's friends together. That is, until she tweeted what she called a "family portrait" of all of them together yesterday morning. The picture featured Lena Dunham, Emma Stone, Jaime King, Ingrid Michaelson and Jessica Szohr crowded around her in a giant group hug.

July 31, 2014......Looking for a device......

1.  You might have one in your house, but more likely, you would find one in your workplace.

2.  You might be amazed to learn that early experimentation on these devices began in the mid-1800s.

3.  These days, these devices are quickly becoming obsolete.

Answer:  Fax Machine

Scottish inventor Alexander Bain worked on chemical mechanical fax type devices and in 1846, was able to reproduce graphic signs in laboratory experiments.

The Pantelegraph was invented by the Italian physicist Giovanni Caselli.  He introduced the first commercial telefax service between Paris and Lyon in 1865, some 11 years before the invention of telephones.
