Like most ladies in Nashville, Carrie Underwood wasn't going to miss New Kids on the Block when they came to the city's Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday night (5/27), but, unlike some of the women at the show, Carrie actually got serenaded by the Boston boy band. During their set, NKOTB took a break from their music to tell everyone that Underwood was in the house, and that she had actually requested a song from them earlier. The band then began serenading Underwood with a song titled "Single" from their 2008 album, The Block. Underwood could then be seen on the Jumbotron rocking back and forth as they sang the song to her. After the show, Carrie took to Twitter to gush about the experience. She tweeted, "I'm pretty sure @NKOTB just sang to MEEEEEE! Best. Night. Ever!!! NKOTB responded by tweeting “We’ll always be your boyfriends, and don’t worry, we’ll never cheat, Louisville Sluggers hurt!”

Martina McBride has responded to radio consultant Keith Hill's comments that appear in the recent issue of Country Aircheck. In the article, Hill gives what he thinks are useful tips to Country radio stations for have great music scheduling, but some of his tips aren't going over well with McBride. At one point in the article, the radio consultant advises against stations playing too many females on the radio and playing them back to back. Hill says, "If you want to make ratings in Country radio, take females out." The consultant goes on to say that he does play female records on the radio, but they're just not "the lettuce in our salad." He continued, "The lettuce is Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton, Keith Urban and artists like that. The tomatoes of our salad are the females."
Well, Martina didn't take to kindly to what Hill had to say, so she posted a message on her Facebook in response. McBride writes, "Wow.....just wow. Just read this from a major country radio publication. How do you feel about this statement? I especially want to hear from the females. Do you not like to hear other women singing about what you are going through as women? I'm really curious. Because to me, country music is about relating. Someone relating to what you are really going through on a day to day basis in your life." She then concludes the message by posing a question to female country radio listeners. She says, "Did you girls (core female listeners) know you were being "assessed" in this way? Is this how you really feel?"
